The Center for Law and Social Justice (CLSJ) seeks to empower New Yorkers of African descent by equipping them with the necessary resources and analytical tools to use the 2020 Census data. The training will cultivate census based advocacy skills in community activists to support and enhance their ability to effectively advocate for an increased share of government resources and ensure equitable political representation.

 

Training Objectives

To train community members and organizations on:

  • Understanding the Census in current and historical contexts

  • How to access and use Census data for community advocacy

  • Understanding the redistricting process and how to participate
